Turner Free School Scholars Attend Holocaust Memorial Day Commemorations 2020

News : 27 January 2020

Scholars attended Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations today at the Folkestone Methodist Church on Sandgate Road. Leo, Maddie, Ruby and Will all presented and spoke written pieces at The Methodist Church to support the service led by the Town Mayor of Folkestone and the Toen Mayor’s Chaplain. They then placed pebbles on the memorial in the Garden of Remembrance to pay respects to the lives lost in the Holocaust and through discrimination worldwide, after a recital of The Kaddish by Rabbi Cliff Cohen.

We are proud of our students representing Turner Free School and maintaining a courageous stance against any kind of persecution. As is the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust theme this year, we stand together against persecution and our scholars demonstrated the school values tremendously.
