At TFS, we believe in the value of home learning to further support and advance scholars’ learning at school. However, we also believe that young people should also have plenty of time in which to partake in hobbies, activities and family time.
Each week, scholars in Year 7 will receive between 45 and 60 minutes of knowledge-based home learning for English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and French. Knowledge Organisers will be provided for each subject, which will provide the basis for most home learning tasks.
Each scholar will be provided with a home learning timetable in September, in order that they know when home learning should be completed.
In addition to set home learning, we would encourage all scholars to read at home every day and to practise their French vocabulary. In addition, from time-to-time, we may set scholars an extended home learning project, for example, in order to prepare for an Inspiration Day, or as part of their Music curriculum.
