Homework

At TFS, we believe in the value of home learning to further support and advance pupils’ learning at school. However, we also believe that young people should also have plenty of time in which to partake in hobbies, activities and family time.

Each week, scholars in Year 7 will receive between 45 and 60 minutes of retrieval, revision or vocabulary-based home learning for English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and French. Knowledge Organisers are provided where appropriate to support pupils to complete their homework and to encourage independent study.

Each pupil will be provided with a home learning timetable in September, in order that they know when home learning should be completed.

In addition to set home learning, we would encourage all pupils to read at home every day and to practise their French and Latin vocabulary. In addition, from time-to-time, we may set pupils an extended home learning project to stretch and challenge them in their learning outside of the classroom.
